It's been a while, but April Fool's stops for no one!

I'd recently gotten a new computer and hadn't had the chance to do much art on it until now, so what better Digimon to use for my first drawing here than DORUmon, a Rookie thought to be a "Prototype Digimon" thanks to the old Digicore Interface on its head!

This assumption is further backed up by its name, as "DORU" is an acronym for "Digital OR Unknown Monsters", meaning it was probably one of the first Digimon discovered and/or created. Apparently the amount of combat related data in DORUmon is so high, it often bites at everything, which might just help it unlock the potential within itself through battle...

your post about all the silly au-ness of voy s7 got me thinking about another weird thing they do a lot where they show a hologram or dream version or whatever of some notable event and then just don’t show the actual event? like they show us seven’s holodeck simulation of b’elanna’s baby shower but not her actual baby shower… it’s just strange! tbh at this point if prodigy or lower decks decided to tell us that everything that happened in s7 was like, barclay’s holoprogram and voyager actually got home some other way i wouldn’t be surprised lol

I'm pretty sure Tom and B'elanna's real wedding is skipped over too and the only scenes of their wedding we get are from the duplicate ship from that demon planet?? you're so right the reality of voyager at any point in the later seasons is questionable i feel like this train of thought could really go places

the base idea was like this and i wanted to buy a nice long hair wig for her, because the project was partially inspired by a story i'm writing, and the bio-tech character in it has long synthetic hair. sorry for oc cringe but its true 😔

UNFORTUNATELY THE LED MATRIX WE BOUGHT IS BIG HUGE. BIGGER THAN THE MANNEQUIN'S HEAD !!!!! so we might have to rethink this approach.

i was thinking maybe instead of an emotive face we could mount the matrix in the chest area, and have it display a heart instead..? and then we could put something in the face at a later point. scott is not just a hobbyist programmist but he also has some experience as a mechanical engineer – he wanted to try his hand at making animatronic eyes next, so we were thinking of incorporating that at some (distant) point. that's all faaaar future considerations though.

one thing i'm 100% about though, is that there will be no "fake" parts. like we're not gonna add anything like plating or extra cables to make her look more robotic or futuristic. any techy looking parts have to be functional. that's not as much an aesthetic choice as it is a personal priniciple lol. so in the end i think she will mostly look like a creepy mannequin :D which is fine by me. i think that's awesome.

So I just stumbled upon a whole Wiki dedicated to creating programs for playing chess. One of the old programs, from the 1970s, described on the site is called simply "Master", or "The Master Chess Program". They even have a picture of it being used:

Apparently "Master" in this case is an abbreviation of "Minimax algorithm Tester".
